# Send

> Send USDC or SOL privately to any wallet address or X handle.

Send USDC or SOL to anyone on Solana without revealing your wallet address. Swish routes the transaction through the best privacy protocol automatically.

## How to send

1. Tap **Send** on the home screen
2. Enter the amount you want to send. Tap the token badge on the amount to switch between **USDC** and **SOL**. Then tap **Continue**
3. Choose the recipient type:
   * **Wallet** — paste or scan a Solana wallet address
   * **X Profile** — enter an X (Twitter) handle (the recipient must have a Swish account)
4. (Optional) Pick a specific privacy protocol — by default, Swish uses **Auto** and picks the best route
5. Review the fee breakdown and the amount the recipient will receive
6. Tap **Proceed** and approve the transaction in your wallet

## Sending to a wallet address

Enter a valid Solana wallet address. You can also tap the **QR scanner** icon to scan an address from a QR code.

## Sending to an X handle

Enter the recipient's X handle (without the @ symbol). Swish will look up their account and resolve it to their wallet address.

## Privacy protocol picker

Below the recipient input, you'll see a picker with options:

* **Auto** (default) — Swish picks the best route automatically
* **Umbra** — strongest privacy; requires both sender and recipient to be Umbra-registered
* **MagicBlock** — TEE-based privacy; 0.1% fee
* **Privacy Cash** — ZK UTXO mixer; works for any recipient

Disabled options are dimmed (e.g., Umbra dims if the recipient isn't registered on it).

<Note>
  **SOL sends** route through **Privacy Cash** or **Umbra** — MagicBlock is USDC-only, so it's hidden when you send SOL. SOL defaults to Privacy Cash; pick **Umbra** manually when both you and the recipient are Umbra-registered.
</Note>

See [Privacy Protocols](/privacy-protocols) for the full breakdown.

## Fee breakdown

Fees vary by protocol — Swish itself charges nothing. The send modal shows the exact fee for the chosen route before you confirm. The **"They Receive"** line shows the exact amount the recipient will get after fees.

See [Fees](/fees) for the full table.

## After sending

Once the transaction is confirmed, you'll see:

* The amount sent
* Who it was sent to (address or X handle)
* The protocol used to route it
* Fee breakdown
* What they receive

The transaction will appear in your **Activity** tab on your profile page.
